
Abubaker Zahoor is a Pakistani writer based in the United States. He holds a PhD in English from the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi and an MFA in Fiction from Miami University. While still a college senior, he published a book of creative nonfiction, Evening Rides With My Guru (Book Corner, 2017). His recent short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Columbia Review, Beloit Fiction Journal, and elsewhere.
In 2026 he joined The South Carolina Review as an associate editor and began reading for the Best of the Net Anthology; he was previously an assistant editor at The Mississippi Review. Born and raised in Faisalabad, Abubaker now lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with his wife, the poet India Smith, and their philosopher cat, Remus.
